to Explore the World of the Pipe Organ

POE IS FOR YOU, IF . . .
… you have already developed intermediate to advanced keyboard skills.
… you would like to play the organ for worship services.
… you want to develop and/or sharpen pedaling skills.
… you want to learn how an organ works.
… you want to get acquainted with the pipe organ and its music.
… you want to meet peers with similar interests.

The goal of POE is to provide students with greater confidence and
competence at the organ; however, no prior organ experience is necessary.

ACTIVITIES
Private lessons in technique, repertoire, and registration
Classes in hymn playing, improvisation, registration, and musicianship
Daily individual practice
Play and hear Metro Phoenix's finest pipe organs
Visit the world-renowned Musical Instrument Museum (MIM)
Guest faculty artist, Amanda Mole, recital and workshop
Perform in the final group recital
Enjoy an evening at Organ Stop Pizza (World's Largest Wurlitzer!)
 Social events and sightseeing

FACULTY*
The faculty will include professional organists with extensive experience in church music, teaching, and organ performance.

INSTRUMENTS*
Lessons, recitals, and group sessions will be held at selected metro area churches, featuring some of the finest pipe organs in the American Southwest.

ACCOMMODATIONS & TRAVEL
POE students will be housed at the comfortably spacious and secure Arizona Christian University and registration includes all meals. Staff will gladly provide transportation to/from rail, bus, or airport terminals upon request.

REGISTRATION & SCHOLARSHIPS

Applications to attend an AGO Pipe Organ Encounter are accepted online only here. They will be accepted on a first-come, first served basis and limited to 30 applicants.

Payment of registration fees must be made directly to the Central Arizona Chapter AGO. Complete the Registration form in the brochure above, clip and mail it with your payment to the address below. Your registration is not complete until it has been received and acknowledged by the POE Registrar.

All-Inclusive Registration Fee: $525

Scholarship assistance is available through the American Guild of Organists. Please email for information on initiating the online scholarship application process. Students are also encouraged to contact their local AGO chapters or churches / synagogues for financial assistance.
